Special Challenges Checklists


The Late-Start Challenge:

- Complete the Preparing for the Challenge Checklist

- Set aside some diaper-free time for your child

- Start an "open door" policy to your bathroom

- Create toileting rituals such as using the toilet with your child in the morning just upon waking

- Talk to your child about toileting using appropriate words

- Encourage your child to potty his/her dolls

- Remind yourself that using the toilet or potty is not a behavioral
issue to be rewarded or punished

- Offer the potty during a diaper change

- Offer the potty before or after a bath

- Have your child sit on the potty with a diaper on

- Have your child sit on the potty with a diaper opened up inside of it


The Part-Time Challenge:

- Complete the Preparing for the Challenge Checklist

- Determine the best times for you to practice EC based on your schedule

- Try to catch at one of the most reliable times
* catch a wake-up pee
* offer the potty during a diaper change
* offer the potty before a bath

- Give your healthcare providers the DiaperFreeBaby HCP Membership materials

- Become a DiaperFreeBaby Mentor

- Give EC related baby gifts to your friends

- Talk about EC and DiaperFreebaby with friends and family
